Salons
Regular gatherings of readings, performance, ideas, and conversation. New work is often heard aloud here for the first time, alongside published work, history, ritual, and the voices of the people gathered in the room.

Original plays. Ritual theater. Books. Salons. The art of being fully present.

Laurie S. Sherman is an author, playwright, poet, director, performer, ritualist, and multidisciplinary artist whose work moves among literature, theater, Jewish ritual, women's history, and the strange alchemy that occurs when words leave the page and enter a room full of people.
Her books, plays, ritual works, salons, and performances form the creative heart of the Hineni Circle.
lauriessherman.com →Women separated by centuries enter the same room.
Biblical, legendary, historical, and contemporary women meet through monologue, dialogue, music, movement, ritual, and story. In Sarah's Tent is part theater, part gathering, and part living conversation: an invitation to encounter women's voices across generations and to bring our own voices into the circle.
Written and created by Laurie S. Sherman.
February 5–7, 2027 · Live Theatre Workshop · Tucson, Arizona

A ritual-theater work by Laurie S. Sherman.
Stories. Ritual. Theater. Community. Presence.
Some of our work happens on a stage. Some around a table, in a garden, in a library, or within a circle of readers. What joins it is the belief that art can become an act of attention: to a story, to another person, to history, and to the moment we are inhabiting together.
The Hineni Circle brings together original writing, ritual theater, books, salons, performances, and community gatherings created by Laurie S. Sherman. The work is carried by two related but distinct organizations.
Hineni Circle LLC is the creative and publishing home of the work, including Hineni Circle Press, books, plays, commissioned writing, workshops, and related creative services.
Hineni Project Inc. is an Arizona 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports the public-facing mission: performances, salons, community programs, educational and cultural partnerships, access, and the development of new work.
